Bocuse d'Or U. S. A. Tryouts

What is the Bocuse d'Or?

Every two years in Lyon, France, a very special competition takes place, known as the Bocuse d'Or. Chefs gather from around the world to compete in a fantastic culinary display of dazzling presentations, wowing the spectators and putting their cuisines on the world stage. Each chef is trying to walk away with the championship of the Bocuse d'Or. Despite the depth of talent in the United States, we have never placed higher than 6th overall in this competition. But to even get the chance to compete on the world stage, a candidate must first earn the right to compete there by going through a "U. S. A. tryout" in order to select the country's most promising chef. Richard is trying out to be the U. S. candidate.

The Goal

For Richard to be selected at the Bocuse d'Or U. S. A. tryouts!

Richard is asking for your support to help cover the cost of his intense training and preparation for the Bocuse d'Or U. S. A. tryouts. If selected, then he would qualify to be the U. S. candidate, and have the opportunity to represent our country in the Bocuse d'Or in 2013.

QUEST FOR LYON

Richard is seeking contributions left up to your discretion, and in return you will be a member of the "Quest for Lyon Academy." You will receive e-mail updates on the progress and news, as well as future events. As a special gift, all contributions over $100 will receive a signed cookbook.

What happens if he is not selected?

In the event Richard is not selected, then the unused balance of contributions will be donated to the "Richard Rosendale Scholarship" fund at his alma mater, Westmoreland County Community College to give future Southwestern Pennsylvania culinary students a head start in their education. This is an active and ongoing scholarship in his name created by the school.

What happens if he is selected?

In the event he is selected, then he will continue his training leading up to the Bocuse d'Or in Lyon, France, in 2013, and he encourages all the members of the "Quest for Lyon Academy" to join him in 2013. After covering the cost of his training, any remaining balance would still be contributed to the scholarship fund at WCCC.

Be part of this exciting endeavor and get updates from Richard via e-mail!
